The County Line Beach neighborhood consists of the homes on the ocean side of PCH, just west of the Ventura County line. County Line public beach, on PCH between Tonga St. and Yerba Buena Road, offers excellent public facilities for swimming and surfing as well as beach sports or just hanging out. Diving in the waters off this area is deemed excellent by experienced divers. Across PCH is Neptune's Net, a long time favorite informal restaurant, a hangout for bikers as well as Malibu regulars.

Homes line the beach both east and west of the County Line beach itself. The area also includes Malibu Bay Club, a 136-unit condominium complex, and a community of landside homes.

County Line is somewhat isolated, with the feel of being far away from anything else. Trancas shopping is over seven miles to the east, and only Pt. Mugu State Park is to the west all the way to Oxnard. However, at one time Pt. Dume was considered too far out. There is a fire station on the hill behind Neptune's Net for emergencies.
